Donna Goudeau is a name that many people in the United States know. She is a convicted murderer who was sentenced to death in the state of Texas. Her story is one that has been told time and time again, but her current whereabouts are unknown. Goudeau was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 5th, 1966. She was the youngest of six children and her father was a Vietnam War veteran. Her mother died when she was just four years old and she was raised by her father and stepmother.
Goudeau dropped out of high school in the eleventh grade and began working as a stripper. It was during this time that she met her future husband, David Goudeau. The two were married in 1985 and had three children together. In 1992, Donna Goudeau was arrested for the murder of Kimberly Cargill, a woman who she had met while working as a stripper. Cargill’s body was found in a dumpster near Goudeau’s home and she was later convicted of the crime.
Goudeau was sentenced to death in 1993 and has been on death row ever since. Her appeals have all been denied and her execution date has been set for June 3rd, 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Goudeau’s execution has been postponed indefinitely. As of right now, it is unknown when or if she will be put to death.

In 2009, Donna Goudeau was sentenced to death for her involvement in the murder of two people. Her co-defendant, Michael Lee Lockhart, was also sentenced to death. The two were convicted of killing a man and a woman in separate incidents in 2006. Goudeau’s attorneys had argued that she should not be given the death penalty because she did not actually kill the victims, but rather was present during the murders and did not take steps to stop them. The jury ultimately disagreed, and Goudeau was sentenced to death. Since her sentencing, Goudeau has been incarcerated on death row in Arizona. Her appeals have all been denied, and her execution is currently scheduled for 2023.
Donna Goudeau is currently serving a life sentence in the Arizona State Prison Complex – Perryville, in Goodyear, Arizona. She will be eligible for parole in 2037, when she will be 62 years old.
